Hey all-

I'm putting out a call for a sponsor (or 50) for a trip to NYC for BlogHer 2012 (August 2-4, 2012). It would include 4 nights at the Hilton (about $299 per night), airfare (Lord only knows what that would cost), and the cost of the conference ($160.00). 

I know its a long shot and there is chance that by the time the conference comes around in a year I could afford to buy all of this myself. However, since things are so up in the air and this is something that I really REALLY want to do, I've decided to put it out there in the off chance that someone (or someoneS) has/have cash they are just dying to unload. I'd be more than happy to help if that is a problem you are looking to solve. 

Another opportunity just arrived in my inbox as well. It is much sooner and much less likely to happen, but October 20 and 21, 2011, again in NYC (is there something wrong with the WEST COAST?!?!!!), there is a WRITERS conference sponsored by PENGUIN publishing. This conference would involve 3 nights at the Hilton, airfare and price of the conference ($299). This conference interests me for obvious reasons - I'm writing a book and there are topics on the schedule that could actually help me figure out the publishing world. But I had such little notice I'm not sure this is mean to be. 

So if you are interested or if you know someone who may be (I'm actually laughing right now at the ridiculousness of this post) email me, call me, send me a smoke signal, throw balled-up tinfoil at me. Really, any way you chose to get a hold of me is just fine.

I can promise you nothing in return except a big thank you somewhere in my book; which will be published one way or another. :)

  1. Kerissa, what about using something like ChipIn for those of us who can't give a lot, but still want to help you get to the conferences? (I hear BlogHer is AWESOME!)
