I figured out how to link to things I love!
Earlier on Facebook, I mentioned that I LOVE this book. Lucky Man: A Memoir, by Michael J. Fox. I actually read his two books in reverse order. I started out with Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist. Also super duper awesome.
I love his writing style. I love how real he is and how he faces adversity with a sense of humor. I'm actually glad that I read these two books out of order. I think the second book gave me such a great sense of where he is now, it was nice to go back to the beginning and see where he started.
I love the picture on the cover of Lucky Man. He is such a cutie. I find his books very inspiring and I admire his writing style as he is honest about his struggles yet seems to find the bright side to every situation. Even if he couldn't see it at the time, he always explains that everything that has happened has been a blessing.
I believe (or at least I used to believe) that everything happens for a reason and I've struggled with what happened to me and why I'm still struggling with it. Why is this happening? What is the purpose? I'm hoping that I can look back in 10 years and realize that in a very twisted way, this was a good thing that happened and that I too can say, thank god my life was turned upside down...
I hope to write a book 1/10th as good as his (I'm sure he had some professional help). If I can do that I'll be happy can consider myself LUCKY :)
